Mel Alexander Carrero Vázquez es natural del municipio de Añasco, Puerto Rico. Tiene un bachillerato en Antropología con énfasis en Arqueología de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Río Piedras. Le interesa realizar estudios postgraduados en Arqueología Histórica, especialmente en el manejo adecuado de colecciones arqueológicas. Ha realizado voluntariados en diversos proyectos y lugares, como el USDA Forest Service en El Yunque National Rainforest, donde ayudó en la conservación y restauración de estructuras históricas; el USDI National Park Service en el San Juan National Historic Site, donde trabajó la catalogación y ordenación de material arqueológico bajo su respectivo contexto; y en el Proyecto Bioarqueológico del Viejo San Juan, donde fungió como voluntario de excavación y documentación. Como parte del PRAC, trabaja desde el Archivo General de Puerto Rico en la ordenación y preparación de la guía de la Serie Correspondencia General o Unidades del Trabajo del Fondo Departamento del Trabajo.
Mel Alexander Carrero Vázquez is originally from the municipality of Añasco, Puerto Rico. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He is interested in pursuing graduate studies in Historical Archaeology, particularly in the proper management of archaeological collections. He has volunteered in various projects and locations, such as the USDA Forest Service at El Yunque National Rainforest, where he assisted in the conservation and restoration of historic structures; the USDI National Park Service at the San Juan National Historic Site, where he worked on the cataloging and organization of archaeological material within its respective context; and the Bioarchaeological Project of Old San Juan, where he served as a volunteer for excavation and documentation. As part of the PRAC, he works at the General Archive of Puerto Rico on the organization and preparation of the guide for the General Correspondence Series or Work Units of the Department of Labor Fund..
