Serie de Libros Perdidos del R/PRAC y el PRSI
La serie Libros Perdidos es una colaboración entre el Rutgers/Puerto Rico Archival Collaboration (R/PRAC) y la Iniciativa de Estudios Puertorriqueños de la Universidad de Connecticut. Publicaremos una serie de textos olvidados o inéditos sobre la historia de Puerto Rico y los puertorriqueños. La serie de libros exclusivamente en línea promoverá el acceso a textos valiosos (incluidos muchos basados en disertaciones y tesis), curados por la Prof. Lauria Santiago y colaboradores de R/PRAC. Los libros se publicarán como libros formateados en PDF con la opción de impresión bajo demanda para el usuario.
Aldo Lauria Santiago es el editor de la serie, y el montaje de texto está a cargo de Sergio García Arroyo. Aceptamos sugerencias de tesis olvidadas que deberían incluirse en la serie.

Estamos interesados en tesis y disertaciones inéditas sobre Puerto Rico y puertorriqueños para la serie Libros Perdidos, la cuál estará exclusivamente en línea.
Términos:
- No hay dinero envuelto de nuestra parte; solo pagamos por el reformatear el texto y el trabajo de PDF.
- No hay revisores del texto, solo se hará una limpieza básica.
- No conlleva ningún prestigio más allá de difundir el trabajo a más personas.
- El autor retiene los derechos de autor, y así lo indicará la página inicial del libro.
- No hay contrato de ningún tipo, solo hace falta un correo electrónico que apruebe la versión final para publicar en la página web.
Requisitos y detalles de formato:
- Necesitamos un manuscrito idealmente en formato word.
- Se pide que se elimine o sustituya la página de dedicatoria, ya que no se trata de una re-publicación de la tesis, si no que se presenta como un texto revisado.
- Se aceptan cambios al título.
- Se puede escribir una introducción breve o prólogo que brinde contexto sobre lo que ha pasado desde entonces, o lo que el autor o autora desee añadir.
- En el escrito, cualquier referencia a “esta tesis” sera sustituida por “este texto”.
- La página principal de la disertación que incluye la información protocolar requerida por la institución académica será eliminada.
- Cualquier otro detalle que el autor o autora quiera añadir, modificar o eliminar se puede considerar.

- The author retains copyright, and this will be stated on the book’s title page.
- There is no contract of any kind, only an email approval of the final version to be published on the website.

- The dedication page should be removed or replaced, as this is not a re-publication of the thesis, but rather a revised text.
- Title changes are accepted.
- A brief introduction or foreword can be written to provide context about what has happened since then or anything the author wishes to add.
- In the text, any reference to “this thesis” will be replaced by “this text.”
- The main page of the dissertation, including any protocol information required by the academic institution, will be removed.
- Any other details the author wishes to add, modify, or remove will be considered.

PRAC and PRSI Lost Book Series
The Lost Books (Libros Perdidos) series is a collaboration between the Rutgers/Puerto Rico Archival Collaboration (R/PRAC) and the Puerto Rican Studies Initiative of the University of Connecticut. We will publish a series of forgotten or unpublished texts on the history of Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans. The online-only book series will promote access to valuable texts (including many based on dissertations and theses), curated by Prof. Lauria Santiago and R/PRAC collaborators. Books will be published as formatted books in PDF with the option of user-purchased on-demand printing.
Aldo Lauria Santiago is the series editor and book formatting is done by Sergio Garcia Arroyo. We accept suggestions of forgotten theses that should be included in the series.
